Lightning

Fri Dec 13, 2013 7:21 pm by queengoogoo

In the evening when the day is done
And no more is the light from the sun,
I look upon the stars Heaven high
And find gratefulness deep inside.
But then there are nights a storm rolls in,
And the twinkles disappear above the lightning.
The thunder accompanying the flash,
Lets me embrace the rain's splash.
These strikes pealing within the darkness
Makes me feel I have been blessed.
For there is …

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to see if anyone has anything to say now that you've had a chance to use the forum a bit.

Is there anything you don't like? Something you would like to see changed? This site gives us a lot of flexbility to modify just about everything you see, so if you can't stand something, or have a suggestion on how something should look/work, let us know.

Hello and Happy New Year! Empty Hello and Happy New Year!

Post by lauralin74 Sun Jan 04, 2015 11:55 am

Hi!   I'm fairly new to joining writing groups and as I'm from WV I thought this would be a nice start.

I've been writing as a hobby since I was in elementary school and am pleased to say that I have kept at it well into my adult life.    A couple of years ago I self-published my first book through Lulu.com thus fulfilling one of my life long goals.   I annually participate in NaNoWriMo which is a wonderful way to get a draft going for new stories.   I also do story roleplay as a hobby.

In addition to writing I of course enjoy reading as well.  There's no one particular genre that I'm fixed on but I do seem to gravitate more towards historical fiction, mainstream fiction, and young adult.   Aside from reading and writing my other hobbies include hiking, geocaching, and sketching.

Currently I work at a local Walmart where I can honestly say that I love my job.   Making people smile is my goal in life and the particular job that I do allows me plenty of opportunity to do just that.   I am also the proud mother of three awesome kids who seem to share my love for reading and writing.

I am hoping that in joining this group that I can continue to stay motivated and inspired to write as well as seek advice and help in embarking to publish future stories.  I also wanted to support our state and the idea that we are indeed a creative and educated people with a unique flavor to add to American culture.
